Unwanted weeds and vegetation don’t have to be controlled with harmful and dangerous chemicals. There are plenty of non-chemical and organic methods of weed control that are reliable and safe to use, such as Foamstream.
Keep reading to find out more about non-chemical weed control and how Foamstream could be the ideal choice for your local area.
What is non-chemical weed control?
Non-chemical weed control is the process of killing weeds without harmful toxins. This is sometimes referred to as cultural or organic weed control, with methods ranging from hoeing and hand-pulling, to hot water and of course, Foamstream.
Is Foamstream a non-chemical method of weed control?
To put it plainly, yes. Foamstream is a herbicide-free method of weed control, meaning that it doesn’t include any potentially harmful chemicals unlike other herbicides such as glyphosate. Instead, Foamstream uses a biodegradable foam combined with near boiling water which covers the weed. The foam insulates the water maintaining a high temperature on the vegetation (57°C and above) for longer than any other alternative method of weed control. The cell structure of the plant is damaged as a result of the heat and causes the weed to die.
Can Foamstream be used for anything else?
Due to the systems high heat retention, Foamstream is also suitable for a variety of other urban space management and outdoor cleaning tasks including gum and graffiti removal, power washing, general sanitisation, and now with the latest product release, can also be used as a water-only high pressure system too. Its versatility means that it can be used in all weather conditions at any time of year. Because of the non-chemical process, Foamstream is safe for use around people, animals and delicate environments making it an effective all-round weed control and urban space management system.
