How Irish Rail improved passenger safety with Foamstream

Problem

Over time, moss, algae and grime had built up on stone platforms and car parks across busy commuter stations. This creates slip hazards, which are a safety risk to passengers.

Traditional chemical-based cleaning doesn't align with Irish Rail's environmental commitments, and cleaning needed to be done during operating hours, with no disruption to service.

How we helped

Foamstream was able to meet all of Irish Rail's needs as it kills moss, algae, and grime through a soft wash with hot water and biodegradable foam. Because no chemical odours or barriers are needed for Foamstream, it's safe for passengers and staff.

The work could be carried out during daytime hours, which allowed stations to remain open.

The long-lasting results that Foamstream provide means that fewer treatments are required for reduced growth of moss and algae.
